PAUL BAKER BDS MSc FDS RCS (Eng) M.Clin.Dent. MRD
Paul qualified from Kings College School of Dentistry in 1992. He spent two and a half years working in hospital in oral and maxillofacial surgery before entering general practice, which he combined with starting an oral surgery referral practice in Eastbourne.
In 1996 he started a part time MSc in Periodontology at UMDS (Guys Hospital), which he completed in 1998. He continued on to study the newly created Master of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) degree, achieving a distinction in July 2000. Around the same time he passed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery and Membership in Restorative Dentistry examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and he became one of the first dentists in the UK to gain a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training for Periodontology in at the end of 2000.
Until recently he taught undergraduates at Kings College Dental School, he does, however, continue to teach in the Eastman Dental Institute Department of Continuing Professional Development. He is regularly invited to lecture on periodontics and implant dentistry to dentists around the country, including surgical master-classes for the British Society of Periodontology. He has had periodontology articles published both here and abroad.
Paul has recently finished served terms on both the Council of the British Society of Periodontology and the Specialist Advisory Committee for Restorative Dentistry
PROFESSOR IAN NEEDLEMAN, BDS MSc PhD MRDRCS (Eng) FDSRCS (Eng) FFPH FHEA
Ian joined the practice in 1987. He received his undergraduate and specialist training at Guy’s Hospital in London and is at the practice on Tuesday and Wednesdays. On the other three days Ian is Professor of Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology) and Evidence-Based Healthcare at UCL Eastman Dental Institute. He teaches specialists in training and runs a busy research programme. Ian is also Director of the International Centre for Evidence-Based Oral Health.
Ian is in regular demand as a speaker at national and international meetings and has been a scientific consultant to both the European Federation of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Clinical Oral Implants Research, BMC Trials and Evidence-Based Dentistry. He is also an Editor with the Cochrane Oral Health Group.

VERONIKA JAKOVLEVA- Head Nurse After leaving teaching, Veronika qualified as a dental nurse in 2004. She initially worked in general practice and then joined the specialist practice in 2007. Her experience as a specialist periodontal and implant nurse is second to none. Veronika also obtained the Certificate in Dental Radiography and as all other members of team PerioLondon is an enthusiastic supporter of CPD. As a person Veronika is friendly, understanding and creates a calm and relaxing environment for all the patient |
EVALINA KOKORISA - Dental Nurse Evelina has been working as a dental nurse for over 15 months. She joined our team in April 2010 after completing her training in general practice. Evelina enjoys her work and is a great asset to the team at Perio London. She is currently undergoing further training in this specialist field under the excellent supervision of Veronika, our head nurse, and she is looking forward to studying for her Certificate in Dental Radiography in the near future. |

SARAH BALIAN - Hygienist Sarah graduated in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at Queen Mary and Westfield College (The Royal London) in 2002. Throughout her clinical career she worked both in general and specialist periodontal practice. As an enthusiastic clinician, Sarah regularly attends ‘hands on’ clinical courses to ensure she adopts the most effective techniques to her practical work. Additionally, due to the passion for her work Sarah regularly exceeds the required Continual Professional Development hours designated by the GDC. | KEILY ROISER - Hygienist Keily qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Guy's, Kings and St Thomas' Dental Institute (GKT) in 2002 and was awarded the Hu Friedy prize for continuing clinical excellence. She joined the practice shortly after qualifying and in addition to providing an excellent dental hygiene service in our specialist practice, she also works in general practice. Keily is highly valued by all her patients, our periodontists, our referrers and all the other members of the Perio London team. She is a dedicated professional who will always go that extra mile. As with all our team, Keily believes in the importance of Continual Professional Development and eagerly participates in all aspects of this and attends the BSDHT Conference annually. Together with Sarah, Keily looks forward to participating in the provision of further training to other hygienists in the near future |
